Polystyrene disposal : Polystyrene recycling is not a difficult problem

Polystyrene also known as EPS/Styrofoam is an excellent packaging material due to its insulating and protective properties. Unfortunately, once goods are delivered and opened, polystyrene then becomes a waste material that companies must pay to dispose of.

Large and bulky volume of polystyrene can take up significant space in a waste skip which means the skip becomes full more quickly, requires emptying more frequently and thus increasing costs.

EPS packaging

It is conservatively estimated that thousands of tons of waste polystyrene is produced and sent to landfill on an annual basis. This material is very lightweight compared to its volume so it is not hard to imagine how much precious landfill space is filled with tons and tons of polystyrene.

Instead of landfill, polystyrene recycling may be a more valuable disposal method. Polystyrene recycling rate is only about 34% at present. And the recycling is actually not a problem, because you only need to reduce the foam volume and then you can sell the materials with low costs.

EPS compactor and densifier

A compactor and A densifier can both do the job well. The machines can both reduce the foam volume at a high ratio. The compressed or densified foam blocks and ingots can be stocked on the pallets and sold to be recycled to make other products like picture frame or XPS insulation board. With these machines, it will not be a problem of recycling polystyrene foams.
