Polystyrene Foam has been accepted at recycling centers, school, hospitals recent years. More and more companies focus on its market value as material to reuse. While there is all kinds of Styrofoam on market. Not all Styrofoam is needed by manufacturers and brokers. Here is recovery process for polystyrene recycling.
- Remove all tape and labels from polystyrene foam. Boxes must be empty, with no contamination. Styrofoam with tape/labels or contamination is not accepted by the recycling vendor.
- Collect polystyrene block in clear plastic bags. Use your own bags for small volumes. For large volumes, you can request big bags filling out the Styrofoam. Large lidded boxes do not need to be bagged.
- Or you can bale polystyrene foam to reduce its space if you have enough materials. So you need to have a baler or get help from others. They can be bales a smaller block. It’s convenient to transport and to save space for you.
- Give a call to Recycling center. They will pick up your polystyrene foam from your location. And you can get paid for your Styrofoam.
Usually, some Styrene foam can’t be accepted, such as polystyrene packing peanuts.
