In order to promote the concept of environmental protection and to build a low-carbon and green city, the Petaling Jaya City Hall is now building the Spirit City Eco-Recycling Square, which is expected to be fully completed in the third quarter of next year!
The Lingshi Ecological Recycling Square is estimated to cost about RM1 million to build. So far, Lingcheng City Hall has spent RM450,000 to build the building’s exterior and ground floor. In addition, the City Hall approved a grant of RM840,000 to add waste treatment facilities to the square.
The mayor of Petaling Jaya, Datuk Aziz, said that the Spirit City Eco-Recycling Square is the first place in Malaysia to showcase the recycling of finished products. It will have a 3R exhibition hall, a conference hall, a children’s and community event space and a film and television hall.
“In addition to the cooperation of private companies, the City Hall has also received funding support from the Xuezhou Economic Planning Unit for the construction of the Eco-Recycling Square.”
“We welcome more private companies, NGOs and government agencies to become strategic partners to complete the construction of this eco-recycling plaza.”
Aziz said on the opening ceremony of the Spirit City Eco-Recycling Square and the promotion of the Styrofoam recycling campaign on Monday.
Lingshi Ecological Recycling Square is located in SS 8/39 in Ling City. It is expected to be fully completed and put into operation in the third quarter of 2019.
Aziz appealed to vendors and residents to send food waste and styrofoam to Lingshi Ecological Recycling Square for recycling.
