Polystyrene foam insulation board, also known as foam board and EPS insulation board, is a white object which is heated and formed in a mold by heating expandable polystyrene beads, that is containing volatile liquid foaming agent.
It has the characteristics of micro-closed holes, mainly used for building walls, roof insulation, composite board insulation, cold storage, air conditioning, vehicles, ship insulation, floor heating, decorative carving and other purposes.
Let us briefly analyze the advantages and disadvantages of polystyrene foam insulation board:
The advantages of polystyrene foam insulation board:
- Polystyrene foam insulation board is light in weight. China’s standards stipulate the use of EPS boards with a bulk density of 18~22kg/m3. In Europe, only EPS boards of 15kg/m3 are used.
- Polystyrene foam insulation board has low thermal conductivity. Due to its air-filled agglomerate structure, the air is prevented from spreading, and its thermal conductivity is at 0.039.
- Because 98% of the space in the board is filled with air, there is enough capacity to buffer the external impact force by changing and returning the shape, and the impact resistance is good.
- Low water absorption, studies have shown that humidity affects the thermal and mechanical properties of materials, and the low water absorption of polystyrene foam insulation materials helps to maintain these properties.
- Polystyrene foam insulation board can be recycled.
Ever since the coming out of expanded polystyrene, it has been widely used for construction industry, however, every coin has two sides, while bringing huge convenience to our society, the detrimental pollution to the environment is obvious and serious, to avoid landfilling the foam board wastes, which has been incinerating or landfillung for decades in the past 70 years, GREENMAX RECYCLING can give us a great help with its polystyrene compactor.
A kind of recycling machine called a EPS compactor can help you recycle the waste. The machine is designed especially for Styrofoam recycling and it can work at a high ratio of 50:1 which means if you put 50m³ loose foam into the hopper, the compactors will crush the foam into pieces and then compress the pieces into EPS blocks which are 50 times smaller than before.
To help make our Christmas holiday happy and clean, it is vital and convenient to take the use of GREENMAX polystyrene compactor to multiply your efficiency in polytsyrene recycling fields.
